Dear Members of the Wirral Community Choir,

I would like to take the chance to offer my congratulations on another successful year, and to thank everyone for their hard work. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the concerts I have been involved with, and look forward to many more successes.

I would also like to congratulate the soloists of the end of year concert, who performed wonderfully, and who are hopefully leading the way for more choir members to ‘face the music’ and perform solos. Singing to any audience is a very personal thing and takes lots of courage and will…but I am told it gets easier.

The Wirral Community Choir is  now on its Summer Break.

The first two rehearsals after the Summer break take place on Thursday 9th September 2010 and Thursday 16th September 2010 respectively, both at 6:30pm at St Catherine's Church, Higher Tranmere. On Thursday 23 September, rehearsals resume at Birkenhead Sixth Form College as usual. We will be focusing on rehearsing for the gala concert at St George's Hall on 23 October 2010,  and choir members will require the following songs:

It's a grand night for singing (new); Merry Widow waltz; Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves; Aida Grand March; Battle Hymn of the Republic; Gershwin Songs; Nun's Chorus (women only); There is nothin' like a dame (men only); Finale to Nessum Dorma (new version). I will have copies of all these items for collection in September.
